The red wine »Caspar Alte Reben« Ahrweiler Spätburgunder, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Deutzerhof has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Ahr in Germany.
In the glass, the wine is a bright garnet red. The nose is characterised by an elegant balsamic, underpinned by some meatiness, tobacco and forest floor, with more air savouriness is added: Liquorice, allspice, clove. Very elegant, playful type, yet with plenty of density and a very fine interplay of juice and acidity as well as a delicate length.
