The sekt »Blanc de Blancs« brut nature, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Hellmer has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Weißburgunder, Auxerrois from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
A powerful aroma of mirabelle plum and apricot with yeast and hay, caramelised hazelnuts. Combines a purist straightforwardness on the palate with texture and fullness on the midpalate, lively acidity, and lively mousse. 48 months of ageing on the lees are evident in the complexity and length.
More about the tastingSome hay and yeast on the nose, notes of brioche. On the palate the wine has a dry impression, the mousse is still youthfully brisk, but not coarse, the acidity is well integrated. A nice aperitif, but one would have wished for a little more maturation time on the lees.
