The white wine Pillnitzer Königlicher Weinberg Riesling Auslese, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Klaus Zimmerling has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Saxony in Germany.
Rich lemon yellow in colour with clear green reflections. A fine, herbal Riesling spice emerges from the glass, rounded off by very fine, subtle botrytis notes. The palate is initially round and almost creamy, but then a firm core of acidity and striking phenolics take hold, giving the wine extract for two decades of bottle ageing. The sweetness is only just intense enough to integrate the full body and powerful alcohol.
