The white wine Saarfeils Spätlese feinherb, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Nik Weis – St. Urbans-Hof has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Moselle in Germany.
Floral and caramel-like in flavour, a fine first maturity. Really "lovely" in the un-kitschy sense of the word. This impression is also confirmed on the palate, which is flanked by a really subtle Saar lightness and a lively acid nerve with strong mineral tones. Wonderful on its own and also great as a food pairing (with freshwater fish, for example).
