The white wine »Tradition 1720« Chardonnay, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Ökonomierat Petgen-Dahm has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Moselle in Germany.
An initial opening on the nose of cooked apple, caraway and iodine, and oyster shell. The palate starts slender and juicy, with Mosel acidity and a delicate counterbalance of sweetness and substance. A layer of suppleness appears in the transition to the finish before tactile minerality takes over. Completely kitsch-free despite the sweetness.
