The white wine Chardonnay vom Kalkmergel Spätlese trocken, vintage 2011 from the winery Weingut Theo Minges has been rated in 2016 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
A fruit-driven varietal type, red apple, sweet corn, a nutty undertone, complex with a nice ripeness in it. The palate still has a comparatively closed structure, well-integrated, subtle acidity, a hint of creaminess, but above all still phenols that hint at the ability to continue maturing in the bottle. Long-lasting, not yet fully fanned out aftertaste. Dry, a good accompaniment to food.
