Tasting Notes
It flows into the glass with a dark black cherry colour. Smoky, bacon, with a scent of mulberry, clove and liquorice. On the palate, grippy, coarse tannins, baroque and dense texture. Boiled wild berry flavours are carried by the alcohol. Acidity rather active in the background.
More about the tastingOn the nose, sweet cherry, cherry stone and leather with hints of caramel and a savoury, peppery note. Elegant and subtle on the palate, well extracted, the rather mild acidity of the vintage reinforces the impression of fullness and breadth, but there is also enough fruit to balance.
