The white wine »Edition S« Beckstein Kirchberg Grauburgunder trocken, vintage 2019 from the winery Winzerhof Strebel has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grauer Burgunder from the region Baden in Germany.
On the nose, a strong oak savouriness meets buttery and nutty tones and a ripe aroma of candied fruit. On the palate, the wine maintains a good balance between tautness and fullness, the alcohol is well integrated, and a good texture suggests further development certain ageing potential. Lime-mineral components are also evident at the end, with a salty undertone. An unusually austere Pinot Gris - but one with certain ageing potential.
