The Epicure: Heiko Nieder Hosts Gourmet Festival in Switzerland

Heiko Nieder will be cooking with acclaimed international chefs such as Prateek Sadhu, Peter Gilmore, Andreas Senn and Julien Royer at The Dolder Grand in Zurich from 5 to 10 July 2022.

After a two-year break due to Covid-19, the renowned gourmet festival 'The Epicure' is finally taking place again at Zurich's Dolder Grand. In 2014, Michelin two-star chef Heiko Nieder launched the culinary event, which brings together some of the best international chefs in Switzerland's largest city each year.

"After having to postpone 'The Epicure' twice now, I am delighted that the event will finally take place again in July and that we can enjoy it together again," says Nieder.

For five evenings, the Dolder chef will create extravagant menus alongside international star chefs. The grand finale of the culinary festival will be the gourmet party, where many of the guest chefs will once again join forces to create unforgettable moments of gastronomic delight.

"The preparations are already underway, it's really great to finally be able to start again," says Nieder, who is proud of his final chef line-up.

Renowned line-up of chefs

The festival will kick off on 5 July with two-star chef Paolo Casagrande from Lasarte in Barcelona, who will create an eight-course menu with Nieder. On Wednesday, the menu revolves around Champagne accompaniment: Nieder, who is a Krug Ambassador, will serve six exclusive dishes with fellow Krug Ambassador Prateek Sadhu, former chef at Mumbai's Masque. On 7 July, Odette chef Julien Royer from Singapore will be at the cooker in Zurich; Saturday and Sunday will be taken over by a guest chef for the first time: Australian top chef Peter Gilmore from Quay restaurant will bring the best of Sydney to the Swiss city for a weekend.

The grand finale will feature several star chefs: Among them Stephen McLaughlin from the only two-star restaurant in Scotland, Andrew Fairlie in the Gleneagles Resort, as well as the Torres brothers Sergio and Javier, David Martin from La Paix in Brussels, Matteo Ferrantino from Bianc in Hamburg, top pastry chef Kay Baumgardt, Laurent Eperon from Zurich's Baur au Lac as well as Andreas Senn from Senns in Salzburg and Marco Müller from Berlin's Rutz.
