Burgundy and Bordeaux collections top Bonhams first online wine auction

Famous auction house offers online-only sale of Fine and Rare Wines and Spirits.

One of the biggest names in auctioneering will host its first online wine sale this month, with Bonhams expecting huge interest in a number of its lots.

Bordeaux and Burgundy collections will lead the sale running from February 14-23, with the chance to purchase two substantial single-owner private collections: one of classic growths from Burgundy, the other from leading Bordeaux Châteaux – each collection consisting of more than 90 lots.

The Burgundy collection includes two six-bottle cases of Chevalier-Montrachet 2009, Domaine Leflaive; estimated price between £6,000-£7,000 per case. Among the highlights of the Bordeaux collection are two dozen-bottle cases of Château Latour 2009; estimated price between £6500-£7,500 per case.

Other lots of particular interest include a Romanée-Conti; estimated between £14,000-£16,000, with Bonhams Senior International Director of Wine, Richard Harvey, saying: “Although we have been holding online-only wine sales in Hong Kong for many years, this is our first online-only venture in the UK. We have assembled a very fine selection of wines for our first auction of 2023.”
