The ‘holiday’ of a lifetime – a three-year cruise with prices starting at €84,000

The cruise to end all cruises will launch from Istanbul in November and take in 135 countries.

While many people feel a little guilty if they take a three-week holiday, one cruise liner company will launch a service later this year that will take passengers on a three-year world tour.

The MV Gemini will depart from Istanbul on November 1 and in total visit 135 countries, 375 ports, and 13 World Wonders across the globe, travelling more than 130,000 miles; destinations will include Rome's Colosseum, India’s Taj Mahal and Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer.

Prices for the trip of a lifetime start at $29,999USD (approx. €28,200) per annum for entry-level cabins, rising to the most luxurious ‘suite cabin with balcony’ which comes in at $109,999USD (approx. €102,600) per annum; alternative payment options are available but passengers will not be able to book for only part of the trip.

Life at Sea Cruises, owned by Miray Cruises, is now accepting reservations, and if you can’t make it to Istanbul for the start of November, pick-ups can also be made at Barcelona and Miami.

The 400 cabins provide room for up to 1,074 passengers, with the ship featuring traditional amenities including world-class dining, onboard entertainment, sundeck and swimming pool, and other recreational activities. There is also a 24-hour hospital, learning and enrichment classes, and even the chance for guests to make a positive impact through volunteering and philanthropic initiatives.

The company is also well aware that many passengers will want to combine the trip with work, offering modern workspace facilities including the first-of-its-kind business centre with meeting rooms, 14 offices, a relaxation lounge and business library, the website keen to highlight the potential tax benefits of international residence.

Managing Director of Life at Sea Cruises, Mikael Petterson, saying: “Professionals need connectivity, the right amenities and the functionality to perform their jobs. There is no other cruise that offers this sort of flexibility to their customers.”
