A new study has identified the best and worst party cities in Europe, with Porto rated the best and Oslo the worst.
A recent study has identified the best party cities in Europe, with Porto in Portugal coming out on top. The research, conducted by online casino No Deposit Friend, rated 87 European cities based on four factors that could influence party-ability: the number and average rating of nightlife attractions such as bars and clubs according to TripAdvisor, and the average price of a beer and a bottle of wine according to Numbeo.
Porto: Europe's number one
Porto was named the best city for nightlife in Europe with an impressive index score of 88.45 out of 100. The city offers 111 nightlife attractions, which equates to 52 attractions per 100,000 inhabitants. The average price for a beer is just 2.11 euros, while a bottle of wine is available for just 3.38 euros. Porto's nightlife attractions received an average rating of 4.66 out of 5 on TripAdvisor.
Prague and Lisbon to follow
Prague in the Czech Republic is in second place with an index value of 80.57. The city has 717 nightlife attractions, with a beer costing an average of 2.06 euros and a bottle of wine 5.15 euros. The attractions received an average rating of 4.29 out of 5 points. Lisbon in Portugal took third place with an index value of 78.73. The city offers a total of 278 nightlife attractions. The price of a beer is 2.54 euros and a bottle of wine costs 4.23 euros. Lisbon's attractions were rated with an average of 4.32 out of 5 points.
The worst party cities in Europe
At the other end of the scale is Oslo in Norway, which was voted the worst party city in Europe. The city scored a low 3.84 out of 5 for its nightlife attractions. Stockholm in Sweden is the second worst party city in Europe with a score of 21.90, followed by Helsinki in Finland with a score of 21.97.
