This Las Vegas hotel room costs $100,000 per night

Suite costs $100,000 per night, although customers with a credit card limit of more than $1m are allowed to stay for free.

The Empathy Suite in Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas Casino costs $100,000 per night – the two-floor hotel room was designed by world-famous artist Damien Hirst and features six pieces of his artwork, including a fish tank with sharks inside. The penthouse villa, located just off the Las Vegas Strip, is 9,000 square feet and has two floors containing two master bedrooms, a bar, private cinema, a lounge, a dining room and a rooftop infinity pool. There is also a fitness room, hot tub and spa, plus staff on hand 24 hours.

The suite is located in the central tower of Palms Resort, called Fantasy Tower and was opened with a private party in 2019 hosted by Damien Hirst himself. Guests staying in the suite can also use a chauffeur-driven car, take part in a private art tour, and will receive $10,000 in credit for use at the hotel casino. Those wishing to book the suite will have to stay for a minimum of two nights and provide a security deposit of $10,000.

Before the hotel underwent a huge $690 million upgrade, the Empathy Suite was called the Hugh Hefner Suite and cost around $40,000 per night, still placing it high on the list of the world’s most expensive rooms. Guests who can prove they have a credit card limit of over $1 million (£820,000) are entitled to book the room for free. Although there is no clear reason for this rule, it may be because wealthier guests often spend far more money in the hotel’s 94,000 square-foot casino, which is home to almost two thousand slot machines.

The Empathy Suite’s price tag places it firmly at the number one spot for the most expensive hotel in both the United States and the world, beating Geneva’s President Wilson Penthouse Suite and The Mark Penthouse Suite in New York. For guests who can’t quite stretch to paying for the Empathy Suite, the hotel’s next most expensive rooms are the five luxury Sky Villas, which range from $25,0000 to $50,000 per night. On the opposite end of the scale, standard rooms at the Palms Resort start from just $90 per night, in line with many of the other famous resorts located on The Strip.
