Recently, in the port of Puerto Portals opened the grill restaurant Yara. As a sister restaurant of the gourmet temple Fera it's already considered a new foodie hotspot on Mallorca.
Dancing only a few meters away from you chrome flashing luxury boats auf den Wellen des mallorquinischen Meeres. Eine leichte Brise weht vom Hafen her. Und auf den Tellern vor einem finden sich hervorragende Kreationen vom Robata-Grill: Willkommen im “Yara“!

The new restaurant is located only about ten kilometers from the Balearic capital Palma in the southwest of the island. In front of the door: the marina. Behind you: the kitchen, which the Austrian Simon Petutschnig with a sure hand. And all around you: summer vibes and the beautiful interiors of Co-owner Sheela Levy. The Swiss designer is also the owner, together with her husband, of the “Fera” in the heart of Palma.
Ebenso wie dort überlässt man im “Yara” nichts dem Zufall. Die Inneneinrichtung des Lokals ist nach Feng Shui Criteria furnished. Exquisite furniture, natural fabrics, many plants and a pleasant color concept underline the feel-good atmosphere. The walls are adorned with large-scale works by local artist Antoni Pedaza.
Behind the stove, too, the Levy entrepreneur couple relies on the help of a familiar face. Der Österreicher Simon Petutschnig, auch für die Karte im “Fera” verantwortlich, vereint im “Yara” asiatische und mediterrane Geschmäcker. Das nötige Know-How hat er sich dafür directly in Japan fetched. There he dived deep into the art of Japanese cuisine.
Für die Gäste heißt das, dass sie Ungewöhnliches ebenso erwarten wird wie handwerkliche Perfektion. Zum Opening stehen beim “Chef’s Menu” derzeit Gillardeau oysters with sake sour and apple to start on the menu. There's also Noris stuffed with crispy seaweed, Wagyu tartare and caviar. Dim Sums with shiitake mushrooms, sashimi, jamón Iberico - all these are just small glimpses of the delicacies that the new foodie hotspot in Mallorca has to offer.
“Im Yara bieten wir Feines auf asiatisch-mediterrane Art, wir verbinden das Beste aus beiden Küchen”, so der Kärntner. Groß geschrieben wird dabei Essen Sharing Style. So everyone can taste their way through the variety of dishes on offer. Absolutely must try the homemade Lemon Pie with green shiso ice cream.
