The small white wine region of Custoza, lying to the east of Lake Garda, has just 1,200 hectares under vine. Recent rule changes in 2019 now mean that this fresh, lively wine style is predominantly made from Cortese (locally known as Bianca Fernanda), Friulano, Garganega and Trebbiano Toscano. Malvasia, Welschriesling and Pinot Bianco may also be included in the blend. Located between the ancient city of Verona and picturesque Lake Garda, much of its production is consumed locally by tourists and residents alike.
