Cilić Vinarija

Falstaff Online Österreich 2023 - Weingüter - Osteuropa

The small family winery Cilic is located between the villages of Medurec and Lozovik in the Sumadija region in central Serbia. Nestled in the hilly landscape, the winery is surrounded by its own vineyards, which cover around 15 hectares at 300 meters above sea level. Primarily international grape varieties are planted. From design to cellar technology, the winery meets international standards, but the winemaking team is well aware that outstanding quality is not achieved through technology alone. That is why a major focus is on the work in the vineyard. With the exception of the rosé wines, the white wines and red wines are matured in barrels made from Serbian or French oak. The white wines are made from Sauvignon Blanc and are marketed in an emphatically fruity style or as "Fumé Blanc" with the difficult maturation in oak barrels, as is also common in Bordeaux, for example. The red wines are usually Bordeaux blends made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, or from the two varieties mentioned with the addition of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. A dark-coloured rosé wine rounds off the range. The excellent ratings show that the determined work for outstanding quality is taken very seriously here.
