Falstaff Wine Guide Italy 2026

The Fumanelli winery looks back on a long history of viticulture in the Veneto: it has been growing grapes and producing wines since 1470. And the soil there even harbours the remains of an ancient Roman site. The vineyards, which extend around a Renaissance villa, produce great red wines as well as white wines with great character. They are produced exclusively from the estate's own grapes. The winery, which can be visited by appointment, offers a unique experience of history, culture and passion for the terroir.

The Marchesi Fumanelli began cultivating vines in the Valpolicella Classica region back in 1470 on the remains of ancient Roman sites. The winery and the company's vineyards are still located there today. The wines are produced exclusively from the estate's own grapes, which are selected with great care. The winery has maintained its identity over time by pursuing a consistent and integral style that has remained unmistakable over the years. Elegance and terroir are the guiding principles of the winery's work.
