Heiner Oberrauch's winery is located just a few minutes' walk from the old town of Bolzano in a magnificent location at Heinrichshof in the village of Bolzano. The young winemaker describes himself as a nature-loving newcomer and is trying to break new ground. The farm is being converted to organic-biodynamic farming and is almost exclusively cultivated by hand. The two autochthonous grape varieties Vernatsch and Lagrein as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Goldmuskateller are cultivated.
There is as little intervention as possible in the cellar, with natural methods (partly spontaneous fermentation and mash contact time) being used to produce wines with a special character. "My primary goal is to produce natural and honest wines. The wines should reflect the grape variety and, above all, the vintage," is how Heiner Oberrauch sums up his philosophy.
