Vinarija Radovanović

Falstaff Online Österreich 2023 - Weingüter - Osteuropa

Vinarija Radovanovic is the first ever small, private winery in Serbia. The winery was founded back in 1990 on the 200 metre high hillside in the heart of the Sumadija region in central Serbia. Today, it is a state of the art winery equipped with everything needed to produce high-quality wines. The winery currently cultivates 30 hectares, planted with the white varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling, as well as the red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and the indigenous Prokupac. The parcels have an ideal southern and south-western exposure, so that the grapes can be harvested when perfectly ripe. The different terroir, which here consists of alternating and varying compositions of loam, clay, slate and limestone, plays a decisive role in the production of the wines. Grapes from around 25 hectares are purchased from winegrowers who work according to the same strict quality criteria. In the production of the wines, strict attention is paid to emphasising the character of the terroir and the grape varieties rather than focusing on technology. A Riesling, a classic Chardonnay, a Sauvignon Blanc and a Chardonnay with barrique ageing according to the Burgundian model are produced. There is also a semi-dry rosé wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, which is also available as 100% Cabernet in a red version. A cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc as well as the premium wine Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve form the top of the range. The fact that the winery has established itself as one of Serbia's best is proven by the many awards and distinctions it has won in national and international competitions.
