Johannes Kleinmann was given the honorary title of Ökonomierat because he was one of the first on the Southern Wine Route to start bottling his wines at the end of the 19th century - a bold step at the time. Four generations later, his descendants bear the title with pride, attaching great importance to creating wines that show provenance, have character and are moving. Their main focus is on Burgundy varieties, which they cultivate in excellent vineyards - our tip is the "Kingsize" Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, which is dense and long. Simply Kingsize.

Mathias Kleinmann experienced the past year as a turning point. According to the winegrower, who is the fourth generation to run the winery with its small individual parcels in top vineyards such as Birkweiler Kastanienbusch and Mandelberg, he has refocused and is now concentrating even more on Burgundy varieties and a Francophile type of taste. He says confidently: "We only do what we love." A new, purist label design has been created to match. We are excited to see in which direction the style of the barrel-aged Burgunder wines will develop.
