The red wine Chiodi di Garofano Primitivo di Manduria DOC, vintage 2016 from the winery Antico Palmento has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Primitivo from the region Puglia in Italy.
Intense cherry red with a garnet rim. An attractive nose of wild berries, orange zest and cinnamom with hints of dried kitchen herbs in the background. The palate is rich in texture with lots of ripe plum and cloves alongside notes of leather and tobacco. There is a distinct, dried fruit, sweetness here. Just a little drying on the finish.
