The red wine Pinot Reserve, vintage 2000 from the winery Bass Phillip has been rated in 2005 with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grauburgunder from the region North West Victoria in Australia.
Bright ruby red with ochre undertones. Smoky elements on the nose, very spicy Pinot aromas, roasted oak notes, freshly ground mocha, very independent varietal expression. Fresh raspberries and preserved cherries on the palate, the tannins are still somewhat demanding, fine tea aromas, lively, somewhat demanding acid structure, red berry fruit, some currants, mineral finish, lemony finish. Needs more bottle ageing.
