The red wine Macchia Primitivo di Manduria DOP, vintage 2021 from the winery Cantine Lizzano has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Primitivo from the region Puglia in Italy.
Bright ruby red with garnet edges. A nose of redcurrant confit, dark tobacco, dried orange pieces, peat and cinnamon. Rich on the palate, with cooked fruit and dark barrel savouriness, shows grippy tannins and notes of dried herbs, powerful, with a slight after-dry finish.
