The red wine Brunello di Montalcino Vigna La Casa DOCG, vintage 2011 from the winery Caparzo has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Brunello di Montalcino in Italy.
Brilliant, intense ruby with a fine garnet sheen. A very fragrant and fine nose opens with notes of ripe, crisp cherries, wild raspberries and some strawberry, with a subtly smoky character in the background. Round and balanced on the palate, it flows elegantly whilst showing raspberry and plum before fine-meshed but dense tannin develops. The final touch is a spiced note on the long finish.
