The red wine Carrick Pinot Noir, vintage 2003 from the winery Carrick Wines has been rated in 2005 with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Central Otago in New Zealand.
Strong, bright ruby garnet, broad rim brightening. Intense dark berry aromas on the nose, some spice of nutmeg and cinnamon. A little broad on the palate, full-bodied and sweet, rather reminiscent of some Californian Pinot, powerful, subtle minerality in the finish, probably still needs bottle ageing.
