The red wine Via Diagonalis Selected Red, vintage 2009 from the winery Castra Rubra has been rated in 2017 by Peter Moser with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot from the region Thracian lowlands in Bulgaria.
Deep carmine-garnet color, ochre reflections, broad rim brightening. Ripe red forest berry confit, some nougat, delicate ethereal notes, a hint of dried herbs. Juicy, extract-sweet and balanced, round tannins, chocolaty touch, balanced, heart cherries in the aftertaste, a well-matured food companion.
