The red wine Butterfly’s Rock, vintage 2010 from the winery Castra Rubra has been rated in 2017 by Peter Moser with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc from the region Thracian lowlands in Bulgaria.
Powerful carmine garnet, good depth, delicate ochre reflections, brighter rim. Ripe black forest berry confit underlaid with delicate ethereal spice, tobacco nuances, candied orange zest, multi-faceted bouquet. Full-bodied, sweet extract, ripe cherries and plums, present, well-integrated tannins, some caramel on the finish, lingers, a full-bodied food companion.
