Tasting Notes
Strong golden yellow with silver reflections and a very persistent, fine mousse. Fine nuances of yellow plum and gooseberries, a touch of pickled cherry, a touch of bakery, almond and walnut, smokey savouriness, nuances of citrus and candied orange zest. The bouquet always opens much earlier than that of Grande Année, due to the ripeness of the grapes of stock culture. Very complex, tightly meshed, delicate red cherry, lively acid structure, salty mineral core, juicy, yellow fruit, a rather opulent style on the finish. Hints of stone fruit and pineapple on the finish, already perfectly developed, showing length and further certain ageing potential, very seductive. How long this cuvée from ungrafted vines will exist is questionable, two years ago (2020) phylloxera was detected for the first time in the two mini-vineyards. (Deg. 03/2022, PM 28/9/22).
