Tasting Notes
Deep, dark ruby with an opaque core, brightening at the rim. Closed dark berries, a little tarry, and blackberry. There's a fleshy density on the palate, and tannins with good-natured, stemmy undertones. It is restrained in acidity yet has enough juiciness behind the striking structure. A ripe, full Boyd with hefty alcohol, that is rich in ageing potential, and, this year, more on the side of density and power than elegance.
