Tasting Notes
Deep dark ruby, with purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. A restrained nose, with a delicate herbal savoury underlay, black berry fruit, with hints of cherry, and some orange zest. Substantial, powerful, with black fruit, vivid tannins that still dominate, clear fine oak spice, some minerality, persistence, and it has a salty finish. It displays virtually no fruit at the moment, and will still need a few years in bottle. It is a rather austere example.
