Tasting from 11.10.2016: Rainer Schäfer

Matured in French 600-litre barrels, closed, little superficial fruit, some wood. Needs air to develop flavours of apple, pear, melon and lemon balm. Dry and powerful on the palate with a vivid acidity, also slightly phenolics. Not a peachy-fruity Riesling type, Burgundian style, mineral-salty, savoury and animating, has certain ageing potential.
