The red wine Gattera Barolo DOCG, vintage 2008 from the winery Cordero di Montezemolo has been rated in 2012 with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Barolo in Italy.
Bright ruby coloured with a pronounced garnet rim. A clear, multi-layered nose shows initially some leather and liquorice, then lots of ripe fruit, especially raspberry and cherries. Similarly lots of rich fruit on the palate, with cherry to the fore, then unfolds with fine, dense tannins that build for a long time. The very long finish shows great mellowness.
