The red wine Contrada Feudo di Mezzo Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2019 from the winery Cottanera has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nerello Mascalese from the region Sicily in Italy.
Brilliant ruby red. Mustard seeds, dried rose petals, raspberries, ripe cherries and delicate resinous tones on the nose, reminiscent of plaster of paris. Hearty on the palate with tightly woven tannins, powerful, stoney, polished red fruit on the finish, currently still somewhat unbalanced.
