The red wine »Le Sol« Craggy Range Syrah Gimblett Gravels, vintage 2013 from the winery Craggy Range has been rated in 2016 by Ulrich Sautter, Peter Moser, Othmar Kiem with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Hawkes Bay in New Zealand.
Deep dark ruby-garnet with purple reflections and a slightly brightening rim. Finely spiced black berry fruit mingle with hints of liquorice, black pepper and classic southern French aromas of maquis and spices. A candied orange zest note emerges with time. The palate brings plenty of juicy black cherry alongside finesse-rich structure from fine but supportive tannins. It's mineral and persistent, with plenty of ageing potential. Finishes on fruit with a touch of cinnamon in the aftertaste.
