The red wine Gevrey-Chambertin, 1er Cru AOC, Clos Saint-Jacques “Vieille Vigne”, vintage 2014 from the winery Domaine Jean-Claude Fourrier has been rated in 2023 by Peter Moser with 96 Falstaff points.
Strong carmine garnet, ochre reflections, subtle brightening on the edge. Fine spicy nuances, black forest berries, dark cherries, increasingly floral aspects with air, savoury, candied mandarin zest, accessible and inviting. Elegant and juicy on the palate, appears fresh and relatively light-footed, mineral core, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fine salty nuances in the finish, already very accessible and versatile.
