Strong ruby garnet, delicate watery rim, brighter around the edges. Intense cookie and roasted aromas on the nose, delicate hints of caramel and honey, inviting wood aromas. Dark fruit, some blackberry and cassis, fine spice, overall very attractive bouquet. Full-bodied on the palate, again characterized by the new wood, good length, red berry fruit, the tannins are well integrated, delicately vegetal on the finish, still needs some bottle ageing, has some potential. Breaks down a little in the glass with air.
