The red wine Saia Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC, vintage 2016 from the winery Feudo Maccari has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nero d’Avola from the region Sicily in Italy.
It has a dark ruby red colour. There is some spicy dark fruit on the nose, along with liquorice, cocoa powder, and rich cherry, but also violets and dried red rose petals. On the palate there is a nice texture, with lovely sweet fruit, opening with finely woven and juicy tannins. It has persistence and good drive.
