Strong ruby garnet, delicate watery rim, brighter around the edges. Very intense roasted aromas on the nose, hints of coffee and bitter chocolate, smoky, a little smoked chamber. Finely spicy on the palate, still somewhat drowned out by the wood, not quite as complex as the loud wood would suggest, coffee-caramel notes over the fruit, still lacking finesse, full-bodied and easy-drinking.
