Tasting Notes
Intense ruby garnet, with a dark coloured core, soft ochre reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Classic Barolo notes of black berries, truffles, dried herbs, and multi-faceted aromatics. Substantial and savoury, with a sweet texture, a salty minerality, meaty, dark nougat on the finish, great ageing potential, one of the great Gaja classics.
More about the tastingDeep carmine garnet with purple reflections and a subtle ochre rim. Dark berryish and cherry aromas garnished with a hint of undergrowth, a hint of herbs and truffles, mineral touch. Tight-knit on the palate, complex, firm tannins, finely structured, pleasant fruit expression in the finish, spicy aftertaste, still has years ahead of it. Piedmont at its finest. .
