The white wine Huia Organic Sauvignon Blanc, vintage 2020 from the winery Huia Vineyards has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl MW with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Marlborough in New Zealand.
The nose is a perfect fusion of baked apple and lime juice: rich but fresh, mellow but lifted. The palate is intense, on the one hand super-bright and almost spiky with lime, on the other it is mellow with ripe, mellow apple flesh. These seemingly juxtaposed notions nonetheless make a wonderful, unusual combo and result in a wine that is as fresh as it is smooth. Beautiful, textured, moreish and really long.
