The red wine 160 anni Calabria Rosso IGT, vintage 2016 from the winery Ippolito 1845 has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 88 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Calabria in Italy.
Radiantly bright, dark ruby red. On the nose airy, some red fruit, the first bottle had little expression, the second seemed overripe and oxidized. On the palate delicate texture, taut and with a very ripe fruit core, an interplay between tannin and fruit, however, drying on the finish, seems discordant. Two bottles tasted.
