The red wine Carolina Rdeča, vintage 2019 from the winery Jakončič has been rated in 2023 by Peter Moser with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot from the region Goriška Brda in Slovenia.
Deep, dark ruby, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Blackberries, savoury nuances, cassis, blackberry confit, tobacco and a touch of nougat. Very powerful on the palate, yet elegant with ripe tannins, dark nougat, mineral notes and taut on the finish. A savoury food companion, still needs some time.
