Black cherry juiciness comes with a hint of tar on the nose. More air lends an appetising smokiness to that aromatic fruit. The palate sweeps in with far more red-fruited verve underlined by a structure of very fine but crunchy tannins. The medium body is beautifully measured and informed throughout by freshness that makes this intensely charming, appetising, aromatic and juicy. Could also be served slightly chilled to great effect. Great value, too.
