The red wine Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Champeaux, vintage 2020 from the winery Maison Marchand-Tawse has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Bourgogne in France.
Dark cherry, juicy, ripe and aromatic, fills the nose. The palate comes in with the same intensity and vigour, with full-fruited energy but also poise: fine acidity channels everything into elegance while firm tannins provide structure. This has drive and spirit and a finish of dark, bitter chocolate.
