Intense ruby red with a purple rim. A nose of plum chutney, dried dates, rum-steeped fruit and cloves, with echoes of licorice and dark chocolate. Pronounced on the palate with lots of tight tannin and powerful structure, notes of licorice and coffee grounds. Remains drying and harsh on the finish with notes of roasted malt.
