The red wine Peiragal Barbera d'Alba DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Marchesi di Barolo has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Barbera from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Rich, powerful ruby. Very clear nose with a rich scent of fresh cherry, plus notes of clove and black pepper. A lot of juicy, ripe fruit on the palate, especially cherry, mouth-filling and opens with supple tannin. There is clear use of wood which makes the wine very smooth and distinctive dark chocolate on the finish.
