The red wine Il Sasso Carmignano DOCG, vintage 2018 from the winery Piaggia has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Dark garnet colour. Revealing and inviting nose of rich wild berries, red beans and a slightly earthy aftertaste, as well as black tea. With a smooth and richly savoury palate, it flows elegantly over the tongue, very individual and full of character, with a long finish.
