The red wine Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, vintage 2016 from the winery Podere Ciona has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot, Alicante Bouschet
Brightening, sparkling ruby red. On the nose there are light tones of freshly baked bread, then a bit earthy chalky, slightly oxidized in the echo, then again on very ripe blood orange, turns constantly in the glass. On the palate it shows with nice juiciness, clear red berry fruit, well matured, then becomes a bit drying in the finish, can still store.
