The red wine Manus Lagrein Riserva Südtirol DOC, vintage 2016 from the winery Ritterhof Weingut-Tenuta has been rated in 2019 by Simon Staffler, Othmar Kiem with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Lagrein from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Deep dark, rich purple in colour. The nose opens with gentle smoky notes, it’s quite mineral with ripe wild berries, blackcurrant, and coffee grounds. The wine shows a lot of blackberry fruit on the palate, which is supple and harmonious with tightly woven tannins, it appears balanced and round, with a long, delicately spicy finish.
