The red wine Barolo DOCG Pira Vecchie Viti, vintage 2017 from the winery Roagna has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nebbiolo from the region Barolo in Italy.
Radiant ruby red, with garnet hues. On the nose, tobacco and liquorice, some truffle, then subtle raspberry notes. Grippy, dense tannins on the palate, multi-layered, wonderfully deep, lots of ripe fruit but also subtle spices, with a beautiful, long finish.
